Barbara, This is For You!

Looking Out over the Back Hayfield

Ok, Barbara, this is what you're missing by not being here! Aren't you glad you decided not to move here to live?

This photo was taken about an hour ago and there appeared to be about 2 to 3 inches of snow on the ground with more coming down thickly as you can see. It's still falling hard and fast and the weather people say we have about another hour to go before it moves on out.

We'll probably end up with about 4 inches of snow which will probably hang around for another day or so then melt in the coming 50+ degree temperatures!

But there is good news - yesterday I went to lunch with a friend to a suburb of Raleigh and there was a Border's bookstore in the same shopping center. I found two great how-to books on painting, one on watercolor and the other on watercolor, gouache, oil & acrylic so I'm going to hunker in and try to do a little learning today.

The only problem I foresee is how to keep the electric blanket over my head and still do the painting exercises in the books! Wish me luck!

Bee U Ti Full........
I like looking at it, but don't like living in it... Been there, done that in New Jersey.

Glad you found some stuff to keep your mind occupied. Learning is great fun when it's something you want to do.

Electric blankets are very conforming, just keep moving it around and take lessons from Linus. His blanket would even dance....LOL.

Hi Jan,
I knew you guys would have more snow than we did. We had 3 inches. Our snowstorms are always worse when they come from the south. It was pretty though, wasn't it?

Hi Jan!

I'm green with envy over your snow! We were projected to get 4-8 inches of snow and I was SO excited I was like a kid at Christmas (you can probably tell that I like snow!) and was so disappointed that we didn't even get enough to cover the ground (I'm closer to the coast of NC than you are). Sigh. One of these days I'm moving to Maine, Colorado, Vermont... somewhere where I'm guaranteed some serious SNOW!

Congrats on your art book finds.. isn't it delicious to settle in on a cold day with new art stuff? :-)
