Since I recently retired from painting pet portraits, I wanted to invite you to my new blog which is still about art but is not so focused on pet paintings. I wanted a new blog as a symbol of this new direction I'm taking with my art.
So, without further ado, let me present the J Gibson Art Studio blog:

Hi Jan,
I am glad you wandered over from Sue Clinker's blog.
The geese - what can I say - I love painting them, and I suppose it shows. I find them fascinating and funny at the same time. The painting on the header actually won a prize, and was a favorite at the Federation of Canadian Artists gallery. I am known as the "goose lady". The gallery requested more geese, and I am happy to oblige.
As for acrylic - ACK!!! Those paper mache figures have been sitting for days to be finished. I hate the thought of going back into the acrylic.
Anyway, I am rambling. Thank you for visiting my blog!!

Hi Jan,
You were wondering "why" paper mache. A friend commissioned me to fabricate 5 "awesome boxes". She wanted animal themes, so these are what I made.
Kathryn
PS - and it is just so much fun to play with :)
Jan, thank you so much for writing. I quite like The Muses, too, and I am a harsh critic :) As for rest - as they say ... no rest for the wicked!!!
